Congratulations to the Prep Debate Team!

Our Debate Team earned 3rd place at the U.S. WSDC Championship debate held this weekend at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. We did great as a team and individually as well. Nikhil Narang took home the 6th place speaker overall award. Please congratulate our very talented students who represented Fairmont this weekend. They have worked very hard to prepare for this tournament and deserve congratulations.

Mable Meet Results

Wow, things keep heating up leading to our league championship on March 27 at Fairmont Private Schools - Anaheim Hills!

There were 76 participants from 6 schools this past Saturday at our Mable Meet. Thanks to all students, parents, administration, and faculty who continue to make each debate competition a success.

Mable Meet - February 13

Hey all! Hope your Winter Breaks went wonderfully! We were busy around here gearing up for the next tournament.

The Mable Meet will be held at Fairmont Schools - Prep Academy and is hosted by Fairmont Schools - Mable Campus.

Eagle Invitational Update

Updated information for Edgewood's teams:

UPDATED PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Please note the following change in the schedule. Since this Friday (December 4) is a minimum day, we will be having debate practice from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Students will need to eat lunch before debate practice begins.

DEBATE DAY SCHEDULE
The schedule for the day will run as follows:
8:00-9:00- Registration
9:00- Round 1
10:30- Round 2
12:00-1:15- LUNCH
1:15- Round 3
2:30- Round 4
3:45- Round 5
5:00- Awards
Students must be present at the Fairmont Prep Academy (2200 W. Sequoia Ave, Anaheim) at 8:00 am.

Bagel Me will be providing us with box lunch sets. The following options will be available:
Turkey/Vegetarian Sandwich - $7.00
Turkey/Vegetarian Sandwich with cheese - $7.50

I am asking all students to purchase lunch on tournament day. Please send me an e-mail by tonight (Thursday) to let me know how many family members will be purchasing lunch as well.
I would appreciate it if you could send me the necessary amount by Tuesday, December 7th.

MHCS Scramble Tournament Results

Thanks to all who came to participate, support, or watch the debate on Saturday. It was a huge success and we'd like to thank the staff, parents, and students of Mission Hills for making a great debate. We had 63 students participate in the debate and we are very proud of each and every one.

The students were broken into color groups and mixed with debaters from other schools. Each color group had 4-5 teams. There were participants from 6 different schools - Fairmont Anaheim Hills, Fairmont Mable, Mission Hills Christian School, Beechwood, Heritage Oak, and Fairmont Edgewood.

MHCS Scramble Tournament this weekend!

Don't forget to come to our first tournament of the year this weekend! Students from Edgewood, Anaheim Hills, and Mable will compete with students from the other schools on mixed teams.

Registration starts at 8am, teams are announced around 9am. Come participate or cheer on your friends! For participants, there is a debate practice tomorrow afternoon at 4pm at Edgewood. There will be argument sharing and a practice debate or two.

Thanks to all...

who participated in the Orange County Debate League workshop this past Saturday at Edgewood. There were 58 students from 8 schools represented, and many of them Fairmont's own. Our demo debate "Cheerleading should be an official sport" went very well, thanks to those who participated, including Alexandra Mowrey, Rochelle Rouhani, Keivon Akbari, and Anjali Narang.

Coming up next - OCDL's Scramble, set for October 24th in a location TBD. Check with your coaches about signups for that.
